The third conference day will begin with a keynote lecture by an invited speaker. The lecture will address current research directions and future challenges related to the scientific scope of IWCN 2029, including multiscale modelling, artificial intelligence, and emerging computing concepts. The speaker, title, and abstract will be announced with the detailed program.

Participants are invited to take a short break for coffee, refreshments, and informal exchange. The break provides time to continue discussions from the keynote lecture and connect with other participants.

The morning scientific session will include invited and contributed presentations related to computational nanotechnology. Contributions may address multiscale simulation approaches, modelling methods, data-driven techniques, or related topics within the IWCN 2029 scope. Detailed session topics, speakers, and presentation titles will be announced once the final program has been confirmed.

Participants will have time for lunch and informal networking. Further details regarding lunch arrangements and location will be provided closer to the conference.

The afternoon scientific session will continue with presentations from the IWCN 2029 scientific program. Topics may include advanced simulation methods, artificial intelligence in computational nanotechnology, future computing concepts, or applications in nanoscale materials and devices. Specific themes, speakers, and titles will be published after the review process and program planning have been completed.

A coffee break will provide time for refreshments, networking, and informal discussions between sessions. Participants are encouraged to use this time to continue scientific exchange with speakers, poster presenters, and other attendees.

The second poster session of IWCN 2029 will provide another opportunity for detailed scientific discussion in an informal setting. Participants can view posters, speak directly with presenters, and exchange ideas on current research results and ongoing projects.

Poster sessions are especially important for interaction between students, early-career researchers, and established scientists. Further information on poster numbers, presentation times, and poster locations will be provided with the final program.

On Tuesday, June 5, 2029, participants are invited to join an excursion exploring Dortmund’s structural transformation. The tour will provide insights into the development of the Ruhr region from an area shaped by coal, steel, and heavy industry into a modern center of business, science, technology, and innovation.

The excursion will focus on the area around Phoenix Lake, one of the most visible examples of urban renewal in Dortmund. Where blast furnaces and the facilities of a major steelworks once dominated the urban landscape, a vibrant waterfront district has emerged.

The program is also expected to include the Phoenix West area. Here, historic industrial structures are combined with modern technology and innovation infrastructure. The site illustrates Dortmund’s structural transformation particularly well: its industrial heritage remains visible while new spaces for research, technology, business, and science continue to develop.

Private bus transportation will be organized for the excursion and Workshop Dinner. The bus will pick up participants at the conference venue, accompany the group to the excursion stops, and continue directly to the dinner venue.

The excursion will be followed by the official IWCN 2029 Workshop Dinner at the historic Hörde Castle, located directly beside Phoenix Lake.

The dinner will provide an informal setting for participants to exchange ideas, strengthen professional connections, and experience one of Dortmund’s most distinctive urban redevelopment areas.
